11th December

Christmas Jumper Day is a fun and festive day where everyone comes to school wearing their favourite Christmas jumper. It could be colourful, sparkly, or decorated with reindeer, snowmen, or anything Christmassy!  Thank you to all for the donations that will be sent to the charity Save The Children. It’s a cheerful way to celebrate the season, spread kindness, and enjoy a bit of Christmas fun together.

December

Reception have had a busy December, we have been rehearsing for our Christmas performance which we hope you will enjoy. We have read the Gingerbread Man and engaged with learning linked to the story. The children are counting down the days until our trip to Macready Theatre. Reception have been working super hard in phonics and with their writing, please continue to practice at home, as your support is also having a noticeable impact! We have also had our first burst of cold weather, bringing ice for us to explore! In maths, the children have been consolidating their number knowledge up to 5 and we have been using BBC Numberblocks to support this. We are supplementing our Maths Mastery programme with NCETM Mastering Number, which means the children are getting lots of maths experiences.

14th November

We had a very exciting time today, it’s Children In Need Day.   All classes took  part in the Strictly CIN Dance! Strictly pros Luba, Michelle, Nancy and Neil created a brand new cha cha cha routine to the song what makes you beautiful! We all enjoyed taking part in the challenge and it was a 10 from the grown ups!

 12th November

Today is Antibullying and Odd Socks Day. Wearing odd socks is a way to celebrate what makes us different and to express our individuality.  Even Warwick Bear, our road safety bear, was seen in our classroom this afternoon wearing his!

11th November

Today as a school, we took part in Remembrance. We were silent at 11am and thought about the poppies and why we have them.  We were very lucky to have a visitor, Mr Perry, who talked to us about being a solider and why this is a very important day to remember.
