We are delighted to share the exciting news that Eastlands Primary School has once again been awarded the Platinum Safe and Active Travel Award, the highest accolade available through Warwickshire County Council’s Safe and Active Schools programme. The initiative, which promotes children’s ability to travel safely and actively in their communities, has been embedded in school life for many years and is supported through an extensive programme of learning led by Mrs Vikmanis through our PSHE and PE curriculum. We are incredibly proud to have achieved this prestigious award for the second consecutive year, recognising the school’s continued commitment to developing children’s road safety awareness, independence and healthy lifestyles. Mrs Warrington and Mrs Vikmanis attended a special awards ceremony at Shire Hall in Warwick to receive the Platinum Award, but were delighted to discover that Eastlands had also received three additional awards. These recognised our seven years of participation in the Road Safety Education Programme, our outstanding increase in active travel rates over the past four years, with the proportion of pupils travelling actively increasing from 55.8% to 78%, and achieving the second highest points total for activities completed within the Safe and Active Schools programme. These achievements are a testament to the fantastic partnership between our children, parents and staff. Thank you for your continued support in helping more children travel safely and actively each day. These awards belong to our whole school community, and we congratulate everyone who has played a part in this success.

The Happy Puzzle company came to Eastlands today as a reward for the whole school! The children have reached 50,000 house points which is amazing. Thank you to our wonderful PSA for funding the event.

Exciting news... Our Early Years Team have just been informed that they have achieved a Silver WIncKs Award! WIncKS is the Warwickshire Inclusion Kite Marking Scheme, awarded to providers that have demonstrated excellent inclusive practice in supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and their families. The award recognises and celebrates high quality SEND provision in Warwickshire’s EYFS settings. A good or outstanding Ofsted rating is required to qualify for a WIncKS award. EYFS settings must evidence that they meet the set criteria; both provision and staff are observed by the IDS team (Integrated Disability Service) who then decide whether to award the kite mark. Well done to you all.

Something to celebrate from outside of school. Two of our pupils have been awarded their black belts from the Tae Kwon Do Association of Great Britain. What an amazing achievement, we are very proud of you.

Times Tables Rock Stars is always popular with our children. There is even a busy lunchtime club now. Eastlands has been awarded a Gold Award for our continued commitment for 5 Years! Well done everyone.

Today we celebrated our first double millionaire AR reader! Congratulations!

We have received a Music Mark of Recognition Certificate for 2025 - 2026. We have a lot of opportunities for taking part in music activities in school. Year 3 and 4 have weekly recorder and keyboard lesson, there is a Rock Steady Band afternoon on Tuesdays and the weekly music lesson for all. Congratulations!
10th December
Awards in assembly. Two of our Year 6 children, were awarded certificates today. They are our first millionaire readers for this year. Congratulations.
7th November
Today everyone was very excited as the children had a Whole School House Reward of extra playtime! Together, they have achieved 10,000 house points! Well done everyone!
17th October
An award of a different kind! As part of our Road Safety Platinum Award, we were gifted £200.00 pounds to spend. We chose to have a balance bike and a helmet for our younger children! It is a Frog Tadpole Plus! Thank you to Mr Roberts for assembling it for us and thank you to the Safe and Active Team for gifting it to us!

Warwickshire Inclusion Kitemarking Scheme (WIncKS)
What is it? Early Years providers must make reasonable adjustments to ensure they offer inclusive provision. Settings must meet their duties under the Equality Act, The SEND Code of Practice and the Early Years Foundation Stage. This supports children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). The WIncKS award recognises and celebrates those settings who go even further. And our Early Years team did it again! Well done to you all.
Safe and Active - Road Safety
What is it? The awards are to recognise the hard work of schools who try out lots of different initiatives and activities. In previous years we were awarded Bronze, Silver and Gold but in the Summer, we were award Platinum! Well done to all of the school community for making our roads safer and for actively travelling!
