With Christmas jumper day fast approaching, we want to ensure that all children can enjoy wearing a festive item so we have decided to add Christmas jumpers/t-shirts to our pre-loved uniform sale. If you have any items that you no longer require and would be willing to donate then we would love to be able to sell them on. All purchase donations would then be passed on to ‘Save The Children’. (Any unsold items will be donated to charity) Please drop any donations at the school office. Thank you for your support.

As the darker nights begin to draw in, it’s more important than ever for children to be bright and easily seen on their journeys to and from school. We encourage reflective or brightly coloured clothing and accessories, such as armbands, to help keep them visible to drivers and cyclists. A little brightness can make a big difference in keeping everyone safe during the autumn and winter months.

Last year, thanks to the generosity of local schools, churches, and community groups, Rugby Food Bank provided emergency food to 6,333 people — including many children. They are incredibly grateful for the support shown across the area.
This year, the need is even greater. Their shelves are becoming empty more frequently, and they are now having to purchase food just to keep up with demand. That’s why Harvest is such a crucial time.
Please see the shopping list of items that are needed below. We would be very grateful if you could donate any of these items. Please drop any donations into school by 21st October.
Thank you for your support

As a school, we take part in the WOW Active Travel to school scheme.
| | |
WOW is a led by the children where they self-report how they get to and from school every day using our interactive WOW Travel Tracker. If they travel sustainably three times a week for a month, they will be rewarded with a WOW badge. It's that easy!
To actively travel you can walk, scoot, cycle and even park and stride. Park away from school and walk for the last 5 - 10 minutes of your journey. You can park at the GEC car park and cross with the school crossing patrol or park at Whinfield car park and walk around the field and into school through the field gate.
Out monthly EYFS and KS1 Class of the month goes to Year 2 and KS2 Year 6. As a school we have finished 1st in the Local Authority and 2nd in the Country. Well done to everyone for trying to travel actively. Walking was the most popular with 42%, 3410 active journeys were taken and 176 badges were awarded. Well done everyone. For more information click the link below.

We had a very special assembly this morning. Mrs Spence told us all about a very special event that is happening this weekend. Eastlands Primary School will be having their very own Junior Parkrun this Sunday. This has been arranged by Mrs Spence to encourage our children to get out into the fresh air and run with their peers! It would be great to see some of you. Any questions, please speak to Mrs Spence!
UPDATE: Thank you to all that joined us, it was great to see you. Hope to see you all again next week!

Today our Year 3 and Year 6 children, took part in a Tag Rugby festival event at St Andrews Rugby field. The festival was an opportunity for all of our children, to be introduced to Tag Rugby, a non-contact form of the sport. The children learnt basic skills and how working together can achieve more. We never know, we might have inspired a future World Cup player. Well done to both year groups.
